FAQ
Q. Can you give me a quote over the phone?
A. We can give you an approximate idea of cost but there are many variables when framing an item, so it is almost impossible to give an exact price without seeing the item for framing.
Q. How much does it cost to frame a picture?
A. The size of item, the frame choice, size of mounts and glass options all affect the overall cost. We would always recommend that you bring your item into us. We can then go through the options with you and give you an exact price.
Q. How long does it take?
A. Turn around time is generally 1 - 2 weeks but we would recommend that you bring your work in to us as early as possible, especially if your work is required for a specific date. A Quicker turn around time may be possible if required.
Q. Can you frame an item the same day?
A. Depending on our volume of work it may be possible to frame an item the same day. Either phone us or call in as early as possible to check availability.
Q. What style of frame do I need?
A. This is often a matter of personal taste. You will probably want the frame to go with your decor and you will also want it to compliment your item without clashing with either or overwhelming the picture. Before you come in, have a think about where you might want to hang your framed item. Take note of surrounding colours, shades and textures.
Q. Mounts - what are they for?
A. A mount's main purpose is to space artwork off the glass in a frame, to protect it. Its next purpose is to enhance the look of the artwork, to make it look better. A mount is also an economical way of fitting a non-standard picture into a standard sized frame, or it can be used to crop a photo/picture.
Q. Do you have a minimum and maximum size frame that you make?
A. Yes. The minimum length of a frame is 10cm and the maximum is 150cm.
